Spend A Day With A Vet!

"Spend A Day With A Vet" was a FREE opportunity for people to have a fun experience while showing their appreciation to our VETS by spending a little time with those VETS who live at the U.S.Vets Midtown Terrace facility.

Highlights:

9:00 AM - POW/MIA Flag Raising

9:15 AM - Comments from visiting dignitaries, presentation of a Proclamation from the Mayor

10:00 AM until 2:00 PM - Barbeque and entertainment. ($10 donation requested)

U.S. Vets Midtown Terrace facility was opened in 1997. It features 170 units of transitional and permanent housing and 72 program beds. The facility is undergoing complete renovation and is seeking support for this through donations of materials and cash.

Special needs programs include a Critical Time Intervention Program, a joint program with the VA Medical Center designed to reach out to homeless veterans with mental illness. The staff also works with VETS to assist them in finding employment and job training. Other services include:
