SCHOLARSHIPS provided
by the club each year to from 3 to 6 students who
have a true
need to enable them to
pursue a higher education. The
Basketball Classic allows us to fund at least two scholarships awarded
to students
of the participating schools. Two or more scholarships
are awarded to students
attending area vocational schools to encourage their continued education.
In the 2008-2009 Rotary Year (July through June) the Rotary Club of Sharpstown provided funding for the following:
$2,000 – College scholarships
$2,000 - Vocation School Scholarships
$1,000 – Star of Hope Mission
$1,000 – Impact A Hero (Impact Player Partners)
$1,000 – Rolling Thunder to benefit U.S. Vets
$1,000 – Mentors of Hope, Lee High School
$ 500 – Sugar Creek Elementary for a “High Tech Hands-On” teaching program
